The former Secretary to the Delta State Government and governship aspirant under the banner of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Obarisi Ovie Omo-Agege has said that the proper implementation of biometric voters registration would ensure credible elections in 2011.
Speaking at a reception in his honour by the Urhobo Social Club in Lagos, he said ”the biometric machines will capture a voter’s finger prints only once and make it impossible for such individual to register more than once.”
“This will make it impossible to have fictitious names such as Mike Tyson to appear on the voters register.”
He urged Deltans living outside the state to return home to register for the polls, as everyone has a role to play in the development of the state.
