OmniPerception, a UK-based developer of biometric technology solutions, has demonstrated its new real-time facial recognition surveillance technology at the Biometrics 2010 conference.

The new system, called CheckPoint.S, is able to scan and find pre-loaded face profile on moving subjects regardless of if they are looking at the camera or not.



The system is primarily designed for use as a security system that alerts personnel once a match is found. Among some of the suggested applications for the system from OmniPerception is in large public places such as airports where the system can covertly alert security personnel to the presence of a wanted criminal or a member of the no-fly list.
